How to get funding?
Information about current grant programmes is available on our website. Applications are submitted on the web portal at the following link: https://portal.usf.com.ua/.
Please read and accept all the Regulations, Terms of Use of the web portal and Policies carefully. After that, fill in the application fields on the website.
Please submit applications only through our official web portal and do not send information to the Foundation’s e-mail or social media. Such applications will not be considered.

Where can I find the Regulations governing the procedure and conditions of the Foundation’s grant programmes?
All the Fund’s Regulations are available to users who have registered on the Portal https://portal.usf.com.ua.

What projects do you support?
We support startups that operate in any field, except for those directly prohibited by Ukrainian law.

Whom do you provide financial support to?
We provide support to Ukrainian startups at the early stages of development (pre-seed and seed).

Is it important to be registered in Ukraine?
Yes, a startup must be registered in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs and Public Organisations in accordance with the procedure established by law.

What are the application deadlines?
There is no deadline for submitting applications for the Grant. We accept applications on a rolling basis. However, within the framework of the Innovation Voucher programme, we inform about the application deadline.

How many applications can one Startup submit?
A startup submits one application for one type of grant.

Can I apply if I dont have a team?
Yes, but in this case, if you plan to involve team members, please attach the terms of reference for the key positions of the Startup.

Do you have any requirements for the Application?
The instructions for filling out the Application are contained in the Application form and the Regulations on the relevant grant programme.
The Application should be filled out exclusively in Ukrainian by an authorised person of the Startup. The information provided in the Application must be accurate, up-to-date and may not violate any requirements of the legislation of Ukraine and the Regulations.

What is the difference between a pitch deck and a startup demo/video?
A pitch deck is a graphic presentation of the Startup that will be used at the Pitch, and a startup demo video is a video demonstration of your Startup with the participation of at least half of the founders of the Startup and lasting at least 8 minutes.

What does lean canvas mean?
This is a startup modeling technique used when filling out the Application.
The lean canvas description covers the following categories: problem, available alternatives and solutions, key metrics, revenue and cost structure, unique value proposition and non-market competitive advantage, customer journey, customer segments, and description of the ideal customer.

Do I need to fill in all the information in each section?
All fields marked with an asterisk are required. We recommend that you fill in all other fields as well, although it is not mandatory.

Do I have to fill in all the information in one session?
Not necessarily, you can save the information at any time during the application process and continue filling it out later. As you complete each section, remember to save your data regularly to avoid losing information.

Can I review my application before submitting it?
After clicking on the Submit button, you will be able to review the latest information about the application before final submission. If you wish to change any of the information displayed on the application preview page, you can do so by returning to the previous page.
After submitting your application, you will be able to view it, but not change it.

What should I do if my costs have changed between the time of submitting the application and the time of receiving the grant funding?
You can make changes to the Estimate at the stage of submitting the documents required to sign the Grant Agreement.

What is the share in the authorised capital that you receive?
We do not receive any share in the charter capital. We provide non-repayable funding in the form of grants, the intended use of which we monitor.

When do I have to return the grant I receive?
You are not obliged to repay the grant if you have used it in accordance with the terms of the Grant Agreement. The rules for monitoring the targeted use of funds are regulated by the Funds Regulations.

How long does it take to process an application?
We try to process applications as soon as they are received. Usually, the review takes 2-3 months, but it depends on the number of applications and the level of workload of the experts.

How does the application selection process work?
You can monitor the results of the selection process and the status of your Application in your personal account on the Web Portal.

Do you sign a non-disclosure agreement? How do I know that my idea will not be stolen?
We respect your ideas and intellectual property and take all possible measures to protect them. We adhere to the approved Data Processing Policy, as well as the Terms of Use of the Web Portal, which you have had the opportunity to read.
In addition, we sign a number of necessary documents with confidentiality clauses with the Experts, members of the Competition Commission and the Foundations staff.

Why was our application not accepted?
We do not provide individual feedback on why we did not select your application for funding. The main reason why an application may be rejected is that it does not meet the requirements of the Regulations and that there are a sufficient number of better applications to select.
At the same time, we will provide feedback on the stages of your Startups progress throughout the entire evaluation process.

Why do I need an electronic digital signature/qualified electronic signature?
You like green trees and clean air, right? So why use tonnes of paper if we can conclude contracts and keep records electronically? The document signed with an electronic digital signature/qualified electronic signature has the force of a written document.

Do I need to have a patent and/or any other documents confirming the existence of intellectual property rights to a product/technology/other intellectual property rights?
There is no such need, but if you have such documents, you should attach them to the application. These can be state-issued documents (certificates, patents), licence or copyright agreements, or service/work contracts under which intellectual property rights were transferred to you.

Do you have a deadline for responding to Support?
We try to respond within a few business days, but we do not have any time limits. The speed of response and feedback depends on the level of complexity and the number of questions as they are received.

I filled out the application, everything was correct. However, it was sent back for revision because the application was not signed by an authorised person. What does this mean?
If a project is submitted by a legal entity, the authorised person to sign such an application is the head of such a legal entity or a person authorised to do so by its constituent documents, power of attorney, law, or other acts of civil law.
If the project is submitted by a sole proprietor, the sole proprietor is the authorised person to sign such an application.

My application has successfully passed compliance. However, now I dont see it in my office. Do I need to submit another application?
No. Your application is currently being evaluated by the Foundations experts. As soon as the application is evaluated, it will appear in your account again.
