What DOES Sandbox offer?

Pilot and scale high-tech products with government support

The Sandbox is created for Ukrainian companies that offer high-tech solutions in the fields of the digital economy, general infrastructure, public services, optimization of government operations, healthcare, biotechnology, education and science, the agricultural sector, defense, and more.

This initiative is implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine in collaboration with the Ukrainian Startup Fund.

What DOES Sandbox offer?

Legal support

Experts will conduct both a general legal audit and an assessment of the startup’s compliance with national and international regulations on personal data protection. Additionally, a comprehensive intellectual property (IP) analysis will be provided.

Based on the results, the company will receive recommendations on risk mitigation, implementation of Privacy by Design and Privacy by Default, an evaluation of the patentability of its IP assets, a strategy for intellectual property protection and a clear framework for IP asset management—crucial for scaling to international markets.

Business analysis

Experts will assess the startup’s business model and maturity level, monetization strategies and financial planning effectiveness. Based on the audit results, they will provide a report with recommendations.

Comprehensive AI product expertise

Experts will assess data quality and model architecture, help define approaches for testing performance, fairness, and security, and develop a strategy for monitoring and risk management. Additionally, they will conduct a compliance audit to ensure adherence to AI regulations and provide relevant recommendations.

Blockchain technology audit

During the assessment, the startup will receive an evaluation of potential risks associated with blockchain technology and/or smart contracts, an analysis of the benefits gained from blockchain implementation, and recommendations for risk mitigation and maximizing advantages.

Who Can Join the Sandbox?

Your company is registered in Ukraine and develops AI- or blockchain-based solutions.
You qualify if:

  • You have a prototype or proof-of-concept model.
  • Your product serves the GovTech, MedTech, AgroTech, EdTech or DefenseTech sectors.
  • You have partially developed technical documentation and have secured investor funding (for early-stage products).

What Results to Expect?

The conclusions may include:

  1. Results of the product evaluation for safety, legal compliance and adherence to standards
  2. Establishment of market demand, applied research methods to identify defects or vulnerabilities, a list of identified risks, issues or non-compliance
  3. Suggested methods for addressing identified risks and resolving discovered issues
  4. Evaluation of measures taken to improve the product and eliminate identified risks
  5. Recommendations for further product implementation
