Ukroboronprom and KSE in partnership with USF are looking for ideas for accelerated demining of the territory of Ukraine
To save civilian lives and economic recovery of Ukraine, there is a need to stimulate the development of humanitarian demining.
To this end, the State Concern “Ukroboronprom” and Kyiv School of Economics in partnership with the Ukrainian Startup Fund are looking for ideas for accelerated demining of the territory of Ukraine.
30% of the total area of Ukraine (174,000 km2) is still mined. This poses high risks to the lives and health of Ukrainians, as well as to global food security.
That’s why the authors of promising projects are invited to join the program to find and implement innovations in humanitarian mine action in Ukraine.
The best developments can receive investments and become part of joint demining initiatives, in particular with foreign companies.
The program will be implemented in 3 stages:
Stage 1. On December 20-23, 2022, an intensive four-day training on demining, combined with a practical part, will be held in Kyiv. Experienced experts from one of the enterprises of Ukroboronprom will talk about the nuances of the regulatory framework, general classification of ammunition, available technologies and means of explosive ordnance disposal. At the same time, participants will have the opportunity to test their own developments and use new knowledge in practice at a specialized training ground.
Stage 2. Presentation by developers of ideas improved after training at an industry forum. Representatives of Ukroboronprom, the Kyiv School of Economics, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service, leading foreign and Ukrainian demining operators, manufacturers, experts and investors will take part in the forum.
Stage 3. Acceleration – the best developments can receive investments, become part of joint demining initiatives, in particular with foreign companies.
The forum and acceleration are planned for the first half of 2023.
