“Startups of Young Scientists: From Idea to Implementation”: Results of the Online Hackathon
On July 4-5, an intensive two-day online hackathon for young scientists “From idea to implementation” was held.
The event was organized by the The Ukrainian Startup Fund with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Council of Young Scientists.
About 60 startups registered to participate in the hackathon.
As a result of expert selection, 23 best projects had the opportunity to listen to interesting lectures by famous speakers, work individually with mentors, and also present their projects to participating teams and professional experts, receiving useful professional feedback.
In particular, according to the program of the event, during the first day the participants of the online hackathon learned about the formation of grant applications, entering the European market, necessary conditions for investment in innovative projects and applying the Lean Canvas model in practice. And the second day of the hackathon was dedicated to team presentations and project discussions with participants and experts.
The participants of the hackathon were greeted by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Sergiі Shkarlet, Head of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Education, Science and Innovation Sergiі Babak, Director of the Ukrainian Startup Fund Pavlo Kartashov, Head of the Council of Young Scientists Olesya Vashchuk.
“I am grateful to the young scientists who contribute to the innovative and economic development of the state. I am sure that the researchers’ ideas will have practical results not only for the scientific potential of Ukraine, but also for other countries”, said Sergii Shkarlet.

Even during the war, a platform for information exchange should work. This is an opportunity to exchange new ideas, proposals, solutions for the support and development of the ecosystem. Here, everyone can present their product, hear current business requests for popular scientific products and innovations, find partners for implementing joint projects, and get professional recommendations for the development of their startups.
