Nova Tech Spring 2.0

Do you dream of partnering with the largest logistics operator in Ukraine? Do you want to excel and win 400,000 UAH for your innovative solution? We are excited to announce the second call of team selections for Nova Tech Spring 2.0, now with expanded challenges!

The Ukrainian Startup Fund, in collaboration with the express delivery leader Nova Post, is extending the call for teams to participate in the Nova Tech Spring 2.0 program, featuring an offline Demo Day at the Nova Tech Open Innovation Studio.

Selected teams will have the opportunity to present their startups. The finalists will compete for a unique chance to collaborate with Nova Post, pilot and launch their solutions, and win a cash prize of 400,000 UAH.

Are you ready to be part of the innovation revolution in the logistics sector? Do you have an established startup, MVP, or prototype solution that can address the current challenges in this industry? If so, this program is for you! Nova Post is seeking new solutions in two key areas.

DIRECTION 1. OPTIMIZATION OF OPERATIONAL PROCESSES.

The quality of services is directly linked to the quality of processes—those that are lossless, fast, and error-free. Continuous and mandatory optimization of these processes is essential to ensure the best service.

Tools for Solving Challenges

  1. Artificial Intelligence Algorithms: These can be effectively used to analyze current business processes, develop improved processes, and solve routine tasks.
  2. Robotics: This is integral to optimizing processes related to the transportation, sorting, and handling of parcels and cargo.
  3. Machine Vision: This technology allows for the automation of tracking parcels, material assets, and personnel, as well as performing online analysis.

Business Cases

  1. Optimization of Targeted Service Processes. Currently, there is a shortage of human resources (couriers) for parcel delivery and collection. Most of the processes are manual, such as loading parcels, grouping them along routes, and searching for parcels in the back of a vehicle.
Solution Metrics: Courier productivity, delivery speed, compliance with estimated delivery time, delivery cost.

  2. Optimization of International Shipment Processing (Filling Out an Invoice). When processing an international shipment, an employee must fill out a detailed invoice and indicate the correct HS code for each item. Optimization should speed up this process and eliminate errors.
Solution Metrics: Processing time, correctness of registration.

  3. Automated Fixed Asset Identification System. The company has a growing number of fixed assets that need constant inventory checks (scanning), which requires significant human resources and time. Some assets, such as pallets, mesh containers, and boxes, are frequently moved between divisions.
Solution Metrics: Inventory time, frequency of data updates, cost of accounting.

DIRECTION 2. NEW CLIENT SERVICES

Our top priority is the client and the service we provide. Therefore, we always strive to create the best possible service and constantly improve it. Our customers highly appreciate the convenience, safety, and comprehensive range of services at our branches. We aim to expand the services we can provide at physical points of contact.

Business Cases

  1. New Services in Postal and Cargo Offices. The main goal of these services is to increase the profitability and payback of the physical service points, generate additional revenue, and increase the number of active users at the branches.
Solution Metrics: MAU (Monthly Active Users), return on investment, sales.

  2. New Services at Points of Sale (PUDO). Similarly, for partner service points, new additional services can increase the number of active customers and revenue at these locations. These service models should be appealing to both the businesses hosting Nova Poshta outlets and Nova Poshta itself.
Solution Metrics: MAU (Monthly Active Users), return on investment, sales.

SELECTION PROCESS:

  1. Application submission. Fill out an application detailing your product or service.
  2. Finalist selection. Shortlisting of the most promising candidates.
  3. Preparations. The Kyiv Innovation Terminal and cargo terminal attendance to observe the shipment sorting process.
  4. Development of concepts and solutions. If necessary, develop product concepts and solutions (participants may be grouped together to achieve the best results).

  1. Oleksiy Taranenko – Chief Business Development Officer of the Nova Group of Companies.
  2. Yevheniy Khomenko – Research and Development Director of the Nova Group of Companies.
