Ukrainian Startup Fund together with UNIT.city is excited to announce the Startup Track during the U Tomorrow Summit 2023 and invites Ukrainian startups to participate! 

U Tomorrow Summit is an event that brings together leading entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators from around the world. It serves as a platform for showcasing groundbreaking ideas, fostering connections, and promoting the growth of the Ukrainian startup ecosystem.

What are the benefits of participating in Startup Track? 

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING IN STARTUP TRACK? 

As a participant in the Startup Track, you’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable exposure, receive feedback from industry experts, and network with potential investors and partners. It’s the perfect chance to take your startup to the next level!

During this initiative, startups will be able to showcase their innovations at the Expo zone, and also will be able to pitch their product from the stage to all the attendees of the Summit!  

THE STARTUP MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

• The company positions itself as the Ukrainian startup or was created after the February 24, 2022, and 50% of the founders are Ukrainians; 
• The company must be able to showcase a finished product or service at U Tomorrow Summit 2023;
• The company must have an English-speaking founder of the startup or its representative;
• The company must have an opportunity to attend the U Tomorrow Summit 2023 in Kyiv on August 29, 2023.

1) MASTER’S IN CYBER DEFENSE FROM SET UNIVERSITY

Duration of study – 18 months.

Master’s program in cybersecurity provides for the comprehensive design of secure and high-quality computer systems and information security management of companies.

During this program, students will go from learning the basics of digital security and potential cyber threats to implementing strategic-level defense scenarios. Students will understand business processes in data security, management of chains of information transmission between contractors, and ethical and legal aspects of information security. They will also consider AI and ML use cases in the context of cybersecurity and listen to courses on leadership and technology project management.

2) MASTER’S IN COMPUTER SCIENCE FROM SET UNIVERSITY

Duration of study – 18 months.

An interdisciplinary master’s program in computer science and innovative engineering, dedicated to modern technological fields with a focus on artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cyber security. In addition to the technological unit, the program includes a set of modules dedicated to the management of technological projects and leadership. The result will be the skills to effectively manage the development and launch of technical projects, pitch ideas to potential investors, and more.

3) MASTER’S PROGRAM MICROMASTER FROM SET UNIVERSITY INFORMATION AND CYBERSECURITY MANAGEMENT

The duration of the study is 9 weeks.

The Micromaster’s program is dedicated to the management of cybersecurity of companies. During training, students will go from basic cyber threats to the implementation of defense scenarios at a strategic level. In practice, they will learn to analyze and forecast risks and build a strategy for protecting company and user data. All training will take place taking into account current scenarios for the markets of Ukraine, the USA, and Europe.

*The Micromaster’s program is a medium-term program (micro-credentials program) that involves several study modules from the main master’s program, for the completion of which graduates receive ECTS credits, which can be credited during studies at a master’s degree later.

SET University is a new non-profit technology university created to provide world-class higher education for future technology leaders and accelerate Ukraine’s recovery. During the full-scale invasion, the SET team developed and launched recruitment for master’s programs in cybersecurity and computer science, entered into long-term partnerships with the Fisher Center for Business Analytics at the University of California, Berkeley, SigmaSoftware, IdeaSoft, ISACA, and also launched short-term programs in the form of micro-masters, accelerators, boot camps and training in partnership with world-renowned venture capital funds, companies, and universities.

4) MENTORING SESSIONS FROM:

1) Rhonda Schrader
Rhonda Schrader is the executive director of the National Science Foundation’s Innovation Corps (NSF I-Corps) Bay Area and Berkeley Haas Entrepreneurship, where she teaches two popular courses on lean startups – Lean Transfer and Startup Disco.
As an entrepreneur, she was one of the original members of the spin-out team of MIT Organogenesis, one of the first publicly traded regenerative medicine companies. She is an active consultant to NASA’s BrainAid and is the Chair of Innovation at Invisible International.

2) Gauthier Vassier
Executive Director of the Fisher Center for Business Analytics at the University of California, Berkeley, Visiting professor, and member of the academic board at SET University, President of the Alliance for Inclusive AI. Gauthier Vassier has more than 10 years of executive experience in the fields of finance, operations, and marketing at large enterprises (Google, Oracle, Hyperion) series A and Pre-IPO companies (Semarchy, TriNet).

THE PROCESS OF REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS AND IDENTIFICATION OF THE WINNERS:

1. Participants fill out an application and upload information about their product and company (by August 10, 2023);
2. All applications will go through the Expert evaluation;
3. Announcement of startups that will be invited to participate in the Expo and Pitch (by August 15, 2023).
