EU4Business launches new grant contest: up to €15.000 for business support

A call for proposals under the expanded medium-sized grant program for companies that create products and services with an innovative component and/or a focus on expansion and/or export!
Funding will be provided to 20 small and medium-sized enterprises for a total amount of €300.000 (up to €15.000 each).

Company must meet the following criteria:
- legal entities – limited liability companies (LLCs), which are small businesses as defined by the Commercial Code of Ukraine;
- the type of economic activity of the enterprise according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs and Public Organizations is indicated in the List of Main Economic Activities Eligible for Support from Technical Assistance under the EU4Business: SME Recovery, Competitiveness and Internationalization Programme;
- at least 51% owned by ultimate beneficial owners who are citizens of Ukraine;
- the number of employees is between 11 and 150 at the time of application;
- annual income from any activity is equivalent to up to €10 million, determined at the average annual exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine;
- the product or service contains an innovative component and/or the company has the potential for expansion and/or export;
- the company is not located and does not operate in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine as of the date of application;
- the company does not operate and has no subsidiaries in the Russian Federation and/or Belarus and other countries on the sanctions list;
- the company, owners and management are not on the sanctions list of legal entities or individuals according to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, enacted by the Decree of the President of Ukraine on the application of special economic and other sanctions in accordance with the Law of Ukraine on Sanctions and other international sanctions lists, including EU sanctions lists (determined by the USF and approved by GIZ);
- the company is not in the process of liquidation or bankruptcy, is not bankrupt and has no tax debts;
- the company is not a defendant in judicial and enforcement proceedings regarding corruption offenses.
❗Important: only one application can be submitted by one company (related companies cannot apply).
Procedure for the grant program:
- The applicant must submit the application form(s) by March 10, 2024 on the web portal of the Ukrainian Startup Fund.
- The Ukrainian Startup Fund will carry out a preliminary assessment (compliance) of applications for compliance with the requirements and completeness of information.
- Independent experts engaged by the Ukrainian Startup Fund will evaluate the applications and interview potential winners shortlisted from the top 25 pre-selected.
- The Ukrainian Startup Fund will conduct negotiations (interviews) with potential winners.
- The Ukrainian Startup Fund will work to confirm the information provided by the applicants and sign grant agreements.
- The Ukrainian Startup Fund will sign grant agreements with 20 winners.
- The Ukrainian Startup Fund will notify all participants via e-mail of the results of their application review.
- On behalf of the EU4Business program, the Ukrainian Startup Fund will make grant payments, monitor and analyze grantees’ interim reports.
