USF: More than 100 grant applications were received in three months of the new DUAL-USE GRANT SUPPORT PROGRAM, most of which are in infrastructure and defense industries

Three months ago, the Ukrainian Startup Fund launched a new DUAL-USE GRANT SUPPORT PROGRAM.

It is a non-refundable financial aid for dual-use projects that simultaneously cover three needs: project development costs, provides access to the best mentors and experts, and increases the country’s defense capabilities and promotes its rapid postwar reconstruction and development of Ukraine.

The initiative was a demand of the situation in Ukraine, because for a country engulfed in war, the priority is the development of military technologies, cyber security, health care, education, infrastructure reconstruction, etc. All these are the primary needs of the state in wartime.

Six months of war demonstrated how important and necessary innovative technologies are, which significantly strengthen the troops.

It is not surprising that USF’s new dual program has aroused great interest among Ukrainian innovators.

To date, USF has already received more than 100 applications for grants under this program. Of these, 37.3% are in the infrastructure reconstruction industry, 33.3% – in defense, 15.7% – in health care, 9.8% – in education, and 3.9% – in cyber security.

The Fund received the most applications from startups from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Lviv.

All these projects have a chance to participate in the competition and receive a grant ($35,000).

Applications from startups are accepted all the time.
