How to Fundraise for a Startup

Raising pre-seed to pre-Series A? Come along to hear from David Hickson, Chief Strategic Development Officer and part of the founding team at Founders Factory. David has helped hundreds of startups fundraise. He’ll be sharing his considerations for fundraising effectively, or what he refers to as the “No-Bullshit Guide to Fundraising”!

About David Hickson: With 20 years experience as a veteran operator across 6 startups/scaleups, David has helped hundreds of startups with their fundraising strategies. His experience includes time at one Europe’s biggest tech-companies (lastminute.com) from its founder era to its 2005 $1.1bn exit. Since then, he has raised over $100m worth of venture/investment capital for four tech ventures.

This Sunderland AFC supporter is also co-Founder & Chief Strategic Officer, now NED of Tribe Sports, a next-gen performance sportswear brand that uses smart internet technologies to bring premium products for non-premium prices. On launch, Tribe Sports Performance Wear had one of the biggest first days ever in the fashion category of global crowdfunding site Kickstarter – and went on to smash its funding goal in just 39.5 hours. Away from the sporting scene, David is also an NED at Simba, the UK’s no1 mattress-in-a-box brand.
