38% of the global land surface is occupied by agriculture. 26% of global GHG emissions come from food production. By 2050, our population is estimated to grow to an estimated 10 billion people. This raises the challenge of producing 56% more food without further increasing the amount of agricultural land while drastically cutting GHG emissions. At the same time, conditions for farmers must be improved, unhealthy and unethical food production prevented, and more.
