Grant Writing for Female-Led Startups

In a difficult year for many startups, female founders have disproportionately borne the brunt of tightened investor dollars. Venture capital funding for female-led startups in the U.S. was down 31% in the first three quarters of 2020 compared to the year before, nearly double the 16% drop for firms founded or led exclusively by men.
Now is the perfect time for startups to apply for grants!
You might be trying to attract investors for a big round of funding, or looking for an initial capital to develop a product prototype. No matter your fundraising strategies, grants are a great alternative for you to find additional equity-free cash to fund your next research initiative or develop a prototype to attract additional investments.
With the limited funding available for startups, finding the right grant that fits with your company’s mission and winning the grant could be challenging.
This workshop will:
- Provide practical, useful information about how to approach grant writing
- Help to guide your grant searching to be more productive
- Encourage you to explore grant opportunities as an alternative source of cash
- Walk you through the complex process of the grant application, helping to nail your first grant
This workshop will benefit female and minority-led startups, businesses, founders, entrepreneurs, and managers of non-profit organizations.
This session will be led by Narine Emdjian, Grant Specialist and Podcast Host of Hye Tech Minds.
