He will give an introduction and analysis of three recently relevant topics within employment law which are of importance to management teams including (1) HR Policies and Procedures (2) The Gig Economy and (3) a bonus topic looking at Covid-19 for employers.
- Why up to date and well drafted HR policies and procedures are so important.
- The legal framework for non-permanent employees.
- Tips to address Covid-19 obligations for employers.
These topics are specifically chosen to address the employment law issues that most commonly arise for growing companies which often cannot divert substantial resources towards HR structures and paperwork. A company’s policies, often contained in an Employee Handbook, play a key role in dispute resolution strategy and success. The “Gig Economy” is a term which is familiar to many but what does it mean for a modern employer and how to protect against its pitfalls. Covid-19 has changed the world we live in and employers are now presented with challenges and an evolving situation.
