USF: Applications for the Regional Innovation Competition 2022 are open (Innovation Competition for the Raw Materials industry)
EIT RawMaterials and the Ukrainian Startup Fund are starting the selection for the Regional Innovation Competition 2022 (Innovation Competition for the Raw Materials industry).
Are you a start-up with an innovation for the raw materials sector?
Apply to the Regional Innovation Competition 2022 to scale up, reach new markets, win €6,000 and connect with a pan-European ecosystem (European Innovators and Businesses).
The Regional Innovation Competition 2022 aims to provide established start-ups in the ris region with:
- • Access to local EIT RawMaterials RIS start-up incubators.
- • Access to local and pan-European ecosystems and markets.
- • Coaching opportunities.
- • EIT RawMaterials Business Creation & Support programmes (RawMaterials Accelerator, Booster Call).
EIT RawMaterials is looking preferably for start-ups that meet the following maturity criteria:
- – Incorporated up to 24 months before submitting to the Programme.
- – In pre-revenue or low revenue phase.
- – In pre-seed phase.
- – In TRL 2-5, CRL 2-5.
Your startup should address a challenge in the following innovation areas:
Solutions have to contribute to the vision of developing raw materials as follows:
- • Exploration and raw materials resource assessment.
- • Mining in challenging environments.
- • Increased resource efficiency in mineral and metallurgical processes.
- • Recycling and material chain optimized for End-of-Life products.
- • Substitution of critical and toxic materials in products and for optimized performance.
- • Design of products and services for the circular economy.
Рroject phases:
- 1. Submission of ideas. Until October 1, 2022.
- 2. Workshops and coaching (online bootcamps and 4–6-hour vouchers for coaching). Selected teams will be granted €2,500 to cover travel and accommodation costs, as well as business needs during the programme. October-December 2022.
- 3. Final pitching and awards. December 2022.
The top 3 start-ups will be awarded prizes of €6,000, €2,500 and €1,500 accordingly.

Launching the Regional Innovation Competition 2022, EIT RawMaterials aims at supporting startups and SMEs from Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) countries to provide innovative solutions for the reinforcement of the raw materials value chain.
