The XII International Business Forum “SCIENCE-BUSINESS-EDUCATION: Strategic Partnership” Brings Together Experts to Develop EDIH Digital Hub Network in Ukraine

The XII International Business Forum “SCIENCE-BUSINESS-EDUCATION: Strategic Partnership” convened, marking a pivotal event to discuss new avenues for advancing Ukraine’s digital innovation landscape. Moderated by Olena Voroshylova, Head of Partnerships and International Cooperation at the Ukrainian Startup Fund, the forum drew the attention of experts, entrepreneurs, and educators who explored how the development and support of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) network could positively impact Ukraine’s innovation ecosystem.

A key focus of the forum was defining strategic objectives for the growth of the EDIH network. Participants concentrated on how EDIHs could offer Ukrainian startups and small businesses practical opportunities for development. Topics included integrating digital technologies into traditional economic sectors and the role of digital hubs in creating competitive advantages for small businesses. The benefits of joining the EDIH network were discussed, highlighting access to advanced technologies, mentorship programs, and expert support to effectively commercialize new ideas.

The forum also underscored the importance of enhancing digital maturity among Ukrainian businesses. According to participants, a critical task is raising entrepreneurs’ awareness and skills in digital technologies and developing educational programs that align with real market needs. The WIN2EDIH initiative presented a series of educational initiatives to support digital skills, while discussions considered how feedback from participants could refine these programs in the future.

Another crucial aspect covered at the forum was ensuring the client appeal of EDIH services. Attendees discussed new methods and tools to attract businesses to digital hubs, emphasizing the need to expand and adapt offerings that are most relevant to industry needs. Communication strategies were highlighted as essential for effectively sharing information about the unique opportunities EDIHs offer.

Mentorship’s role in commercializing ideas also emerged as a central theme of the discussions. Experts stressed that mentorship supports entrepreneurs at every stage of development – from creating business models to market entry – helping startups transform ideas into successful products. This is essential for the innovation ecosystem, where digital hubs can become primary support centers for entrepreneurs.

The forum concluded with a discussion on stakeholder synergy within the EDIH network, illustrating how shared goals and collaborative efforts can foster a unified digital innovation ecosystem. Successful partnerships between key participants – researchers, businesses, and educational institutions – were highlighted as foundational to advancing Ukraine’s digital economy.

The forum underscored opportunities to strengthen collaboration and partnership, where science, business, and education come together to achieve a shared goal: a digital future for Ukraine.
