USF as a partner of the Regional Innovation Competition 2022 provided mentoring support to teams in the final of the event in Athens (Greece)

On December 17, the final of the Regional Innovation Competition 2022 from EIT RawMaterials took place in Athens, Greece.

The awarding ceremony was preceded by 3 months of intensive bootcamp, training and mentoring from European experts in the raw materials industry – Raw Materials.

The Ukrainian Startup Fund as a partner of the competition provided mentoring support to the teams.

This year 25 teams applied from Ukraine, two of which became finalists of the international competition.

Among 11 contenders for victory in the European arena, our country was represented by the following startups:

  • Innovative Burners (Odesa) – universal burners for liquid fuels that can operate on classic fuels and liquids containing petroleum products.
  • MACSIO Expert System (Dnipro) – software for the selection of rational composition of mineral raw materials for the metallurgical industry, based on the forecast of its high-temperature properties.

The startup founders confidently demonstrated their projects and received strong support from the jury, partners and participants of the competition. The work of the teams was especially noted, given the difficult conditions in the country.

Ukrainian innovators once again managed to impress representatives of the international technology community with their endurance, perseverance and unique ideas.

Despite blackouts, communication disruptions and general danger during the war, startups from Ukraine continue to improve their products and conquer new heights at world-class events.

In total, projects from more than 25 countries took part in the competition. Selected startups received access to:

  • incubators of the EIT RawMaterials RIS network;
  • local and pan-European ecosystems and markets;
  • mentoring and coaching from experts;
  • programs under the EIT RawMaterials Business Creation & Support initiative.

USF is pleased with the successful completion of the national projects competition and invites you to actively participate in initiatives that contribute to both the individual growth of the startup and the promotion of the Ukrainian ecosystem in the international arena.
